The Purple Family

On December 19, 2024, at 19:00, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv, a special new event was held to launch the “Purple Family” project, which aims to accompany and support Givati Brigade graduates in their transition from military service to civilian life. The event, which took place in a festive and impressive atmosphere, constitutes the opening shot for the creation of a united and active community that will assist the Brigade’s veterans in all stages of their civilian lives.

The event was attended by 1,150 veterans of the Givati Brigade, bereaved families, as well as soldiers who have been injured in previous wars and who support the wounded from the “Iron Swords” war. The culinary aspect of the event was conducted by the people of Serrano Catering from the “Pepper” group, who hosted Chef Segev Moshe.

The vision of the event – a strong and supportive community!

The project is designed to create platforms that will accompany the veterans of the brigade in the processes of discharge and integration into civilian life. It will offer practical tools for success in various fields: job search, education, entrepreneurship, and mental well-being. The launch event marked the beginning of the road to building a supportive and proactive community, which allows community members to keep in touch with their comrades in arms and pass the torch on to the next generation.

The event included several key components aimed at connecting between the participants, presenting the project’s vision, and providing them with initial tools for success.

Celebratory Reception – Music, food and beverages, passing between the project’s booths and receiving gifts

Booths of partner companies and associations – information about open positions, study programs, and special benefits.

Speeches and presentation of the project: An opening speech by the initiator of the project, the chairman of the Givati Brigade Association, Mr. itzhak Levit; a speech by the project manager, Yali Aharon; an explanation of the goals of the initiative and a presentation of the stages of action. These will be followed by a performance guest comedian – Guy Hochman, and a lecture by the high-tech entrepreneur, and veteran of the Givati Brigade, Ms. Merav Bahat.

For the community’s benefit, registration stations have been set up, using QR scanning. These offered unique benefits for participants who register on the spot.

An opportunity for networking and enrichment among Givati graduates, the event gave the participants an opportunity to reconnect with friends from the service, meet new professional partners, and build a wide network of contacts that will accompany them in the coming years. The emphasis was not only on professional support, but also on strengthening the social and emotional network.

The success of the project depends on the cooperation between the members of the community, both experienced veterans of the brigade and the newly discharged soldiers. Anyone can contribute, whether by volunteering, consulting, or participating in events and activities.
