On June 18, 2023, Thursday at 17:30, the annual memorial ceremony for the fallen
soldiers of the battle on Ibdis Hill will be held.
The battles for the Ibdis post during the War of Independence took place between 7-
12.7.1948, between fighters of the Givati Brigade from Battalions 51, 52, and 53 and
units from the Egyptian army.
The post located on a ridge 2,000 meters northeast of Negba was captured in Operation
An-Far, and the Brigade’s forces continued to hold it in the face of Egyptian
counterattacks.
In the battles, the brigade lost 25 of its fighters.
